IUCN invites International Model Forest Network (IMFN) partners and stakeholders to submit PANORAMA Solutions for publication

The International Model Forest Network is the world’s largest network dedicated to sustainable landscape governance. The IMFN covers 60+ Model Forests in 30+ countries covering 70+ million hectares of land. The IMFN is a voluntary global community of practice whose members and supporters work toward the sustainable management of forest‐based landscapes and natural resources through the Model Forest approach.

IUCN and the IMFN are working together to support Model Forests around the world, including in Bolivia, China, Cameroon, India, and Thailand. Together, IUCN and the IMFN are supporting communities to boost Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR), promote gender-responsive forestry and landscape governance, and tell the stories of the communities who are making a difference on the ground.

What are the benefits of submitting Model Forest stories to PANORAMA?

PANORAMA – Solutions for a Healthy Planet is a partnership initiative, grounded in the vision of a global community where changemakers share, adopt, and scale-up inspiring Solutions for a healthy planet. PANORAMA brings to life the ideal of global learning through local Solutions, fostering an environment where cross-sectoral inspiration and global innovation thrive. For over a decade, PANORAMA has stood as a beacon of knowledge and a testament to the power of shared knowledge in overcoming environmental challenges. PANORAMA aligns with major global directives like the Kunming-Montréal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), the Paris Agreement, and the UN Agenda 2030, turning local and regional Solutions into global changemakers.

By highlighting successes from the IMFN through PANORAMA, Model Forests have a crucial opportunity to tell their success stories while supporting other community-managed forests to learn and adapt lessons from the IMFN. Existing PANORAMA Solutions from Model Forests include:

How does the submission process work?

IUCN would like to invite Model Forest stakeholders to add to the IMFN’s presence on the PANORAMA platform by submitting new PANORAMA Solutions focused on Model Forest success stories. These stories will be added to the PANORAMA web platform and, with the consent of the contributing organisation, added to a PANORAMA Solutions in Focus publication, to be developed by IUCN in 2026.
